Energy-from-waste and waste management

Energy-from-waste plants depend on a small number of cranes working very hard. The bunker crane and its grab feed the furnace day and night, in dust, heat and corrosive conditions, and an unplanned stop is felt across the whole plant. This is the sector CraneWave knows best, and where Censiary's first products come from.
All sectors

Typical assets

  • Waste bunker cranes and their grabs
  • Maintenance and ash cranes, hoists and lifting beams
  • Tipping hall doors, shredders and conveyors
  • Hydraulic power packs and hoses on grabs
  • Pumps, compressors and pressure systems in the process plant
  • Lifting accessories used in outages

Compliance pressures

  • LOLER thorough examination of cranes and accessories, plus the site's own benchmark standard
  • High-duty cycles and build-up of waste and dust accelerating wear
  • Planned outages that must be used well, with defects known in advance
  • Evidence for insurers, auditors and the operating contract

What a pilot looks like here

A pilot here would usually start with the bunker crane fleet: each crane, grab and key lifting accessory tagged, templates written to LOLER and the site's benchmark, and the inspection and maintenance team trained on site. Over ninety days we compare time per inspection, defects raised and closed, and the quality of evidence against the current process.

About the pilot programme

Talk to us about a pilot

Pilot programmes are agreed site by site. Tell us about your lifting equipment and plant, and we will show you Lifting Protect on your own assets.
